The Cla-Val 33VB is a vacuum breaker valve designed for water distribution and transmission pipelines. It is installed at high points in piping systems to admit air during vacuum conditions, preventing pipe deformation, collapse, or unstable hydraulic operation.

Operation

The large air inlet orifice allows unrestricted air entry during pipeline draining. The valve opens at low negative pressure (approx. 1/4 psi) and reseals tightly with an elastomer seat once pressure is restored.
