Three-Piece Filter Regulator Lubricator Units Hafner Futura line FS – FRL

The Hafner KS3U Futura line FS series are three-piece air preparation units comprising a filter, pressure regulator, and lubricator. These assemblies are installed at the inlet of pneumatic systems where 5 μm filtration, stable downstream pressure, and controlled lubrication are required for equipment operation.

Technical Specifications

• KS3U-014/8 G: G 1/4”, flow rate 400 l/min, size FS-0, inlet pressure 1.5–12 bar.
• KS3U-114/8 G / KS3U-138/8 G: G 1/4” or G 3/8”, 1800 l/min, size FS-1.
• KS3U-238/8 G / KS3U-212/8 G: G 3/8” or G 1/2”, 3500 l/min, size FS-2.
• KS3U-434/8 G / KS3U-41/8 G: G 3/4” or G 1”, 12200 l/min, size FS-4.

Outlet pressure is adjustable from 0.5–8 bar. For FS-1 to FS-4, inlet pressure range is 1.5–16 bar.

Drain Options: HA or AM

HA versions feature semi-automatic condensate drain. AM versions provide automatic drain, recommended for continuous operation or where manual condensate removal is impractical.

Comparison with Two-Piece FRL Units

In three-piece configurations, the filter and regulator are separate modules upstream of the lubricator. This facilitates independent maintenance, element replacement, and adaptation to larger pneumatic panels.

Selection Criteria

Selection is based on line flow rate, pressure drop, connection thread, required outlet pressure, drain type, and lubrication needs. For circuits with valves or sensors designed for dry air, lubrication requirements must be evaluated prior to installation.

Maintenance

Routine checks include filter element, condensate bowl, drain operation, pressure setting, oil level, and lubricator flow.
