NORIS Type 880 – Double-Sided Flow Indicator DIN 3237

The NORIS 880 is a straight-through double-sided flow indicator with flanged connections according to DIN standards, available in pressure classes PN16, PN25, or PN40. It is used for local visual monitoring of liquids and gases in horizontal or vertical pipelines.

Operating Conditions

  • Construction Standard: DIN 3237
  • Connection: DIN flanges PN16 / PN25 / PN40
  • Operating Pressure: 16 / 25 / 40 bar
  • Operating Temperature: 150 °C or 280 °C
  • Installation: Horizontal or vertical, observing flow direction
  • Size Range: DN15–DN200
  • Covers: Square for DN15–DN50, round for larger diameters

Materials and Sealing

Body available in GG25 / EN-GJL-250, GS-C25 / 1.0619 / GP240GH, or stainless steel 1.4408. GG25 cast iron is limited to a maximum pressure of 16 bar. Viewing glasses are borosilicate according to DIN 7080 or soda-lime according to DIN 8902. Standard sealing is graphite, with other materials available upon fluid and temperature assessment.

Construction Options

Available with ANSI flanges, butt weld ends, spinner or flap for enhanced visual indication, heating jacket, and observation lighting. Optional EN 10204 type 2.2 or 3.1 certification can be requested.

Applications

Suitable for process water, auxiliary networks, condensate, gases, and chemical liquids compatible with construction materials. Not a flow meter; provides visual confirmation of flow, filling, bubbles, color change, or fluid presence.

Difference from Series 108 / 112

The 880 covers higher pressure classes PN25 and PN40 compared to indicators limited to PN16. Selected when the line requires higher pressure DIN flanges and a metal body with two viewing glasses.

FAQ

Does it accept an actuator?
No. It is a passive flow indicator. Available options concern visual indication, lighting, or special construction.

What should be specified in the order?
DN, PN, body material, glass type, temperature, fluid, sealing, and potential need for spinner, flap, lighting, or heating jacket.
