NORIS Bauform 112-S – Dual-Sided Flow Indicator with Butt Weld Ends
The NORIS 112-S is a straight-through, dual-sided flow indicator with butt weld ends. It is used for visual inspection of filling and flow in pipelines, without signal output or flow measurement function. In horizontal installations, the body geometry minimizes residual liquid retention within the indicator.
Technical Specifications

Materials and Sealing
The body is available in WN 1.4571 or 1.4404. Covers are stainless steel with A4-70 bolts. Observation glasses are borosilicate per DIN 7080 or soda-lime per DIN 8902. Standard sealing is graphite, with other materials available after fluid, temperature, and chemical compatibility assessment.
Application Scope
The 112-S type is selected for welded pipelines requiring permanent installation without flanged disassembly. Applicable for process water, auxiliary circuits, compatible chemical liquids, gases, and lines where operators need to locally check filling, bubbles, color, or flow presence.
Difference from NORIS 112 and 112-A
The 112 is flanged DIN PN16, while the 112-A covers ANSI flanges. The 112-S is used when piping specifications require a welded connection. Selection depends on pipe standard, DN/outer diameter, disassembly needs, and operating temperature.
FAQ
Does it accept an actuator?
No. It is a passive flow indicator. The electrical option is only for the observation light.
What should be specified in the order?
DN and outer pipe diameter, pressure, temperature, body material, glass type, gasket material, fluid, and any requirement for extended length or lighting.
