Pre-Torqued Rupture Disc Holder STRIKO
The STRIKO pre-torqued holder is designed for metallic rupture discs where controlled assembly is required prior to installation in the process line. The disc is preloaded within the holder, minimizing errors from uneven flange tightening, misalignment, or disc rotation during maintenance. This approach supports repeatable installation and reduces the risk of mechanical damage to the disc element.
Technical Specifications
- Compatibility: STRIKO metallic rupture discs.
- DN: DN20 to DN150 (refer to product datasheet).
- Operating temperature: -200°C to +480°C.
- Operating pressure: depends on disc type and DN.
- Materials: stainless steels (typically 1.4571), as well as Hastelloy, Sandvik SX, tantalum alloy, or carbon steel.
Functional Role
The holder itself does not provide pressure relief; it ensures mechanical seating of the rupture disc. Final selection must consider:
- set pressure and burst temperature,
- operating pressure and working ratio,
- vacuum or backpressure,
- flange material and process media,
- requirement for burst indicator or leak sensor.
Comparison with StandardHolder
StandardHolder is installed and torqued via process flanges. The pre-torqued assembly is supplied as a closed disc–holder unit, suitable for reinstallation after visual inspection and for shutdown operations where torque repeatability is critical. SHZ Pro / SHU Pro variants feature metal-to-metal sealing between disc and holder.
Certifications
STRIKO is certified to ISO 9001:2015 for development and production of bursting disc safety devices, and maintains a quality assurance system per PED 2014/68/EU Module D for metallic and graphite rupture discs.
