HG2 Holder for STRIKO Graphite Rupture Disks

The HG2 holder is designed for installation of flat graphite rupture disks STRIKO G2 / LPG2 between flanges. The disk is positioned in the inlet section of the holder, optionally with vacuum support. Final sealing is achieved by axial tightening of the flanges.

Design Features

The assembly includes:

  • inlet/outlet holder body,
  • flat graphite disk G2 or LPG2,
  • optional vacuum support,
  • gaskets between holder and flanges,
  • optional burst indicator on the outlet side.

The holder does not define the burst pressure; this is determined by the disk, reference temperature, nominal diameter, process medium, and differential operating pressure.

Materials and Media Compatibility

HG2 is available in graphite, stainless steel 1.4571, special alloys such as Hastelloy or Inconel, and with PTFE liner on the process side. Special versions with sintered Teflon coating are suitable for use up to 260°C. Various sealing material combinations are available.

Typical Applications

  • chemical lines with corrosive liquids or gases,
  • scrubbers and absorbers,
  • reactors and storage vessels,
  • piping requiring non-reclosing pressure relief,
  • applications where graphite is preferred over metallic wetted materials.

Difference from G3

G2 / LPG2 disks require the HG2 holder. G3M / G3A are monoblock graphite disks and can be installed directly between flanges without a separate holder.

Certifications

STRIKO documentation references ISO 9001:2015 and PED 2014/68/EU Module D certifications for rupture disk assemblies.

Description

Holder for Graphite Rupture Disc

for flat graphite bursting discs of the G2 series  Rupture discs of the G2 series (G2 & LPG2) are installed in holder HG2 between the flanges.

The principal structure of such rupture disc equipment is always the same.

The rupture disc is positioned with the optional vacuum support in the holder inlet part, and then clamped between the flanges. The necessary axial pressure applied this way makes the unit tight. The system is completed with the seals between holder and flanges or the optional burst indicator on the discharge side.

Advantages in the application

  • Graphite rupture disc are designed for use with aggressive media
  • Ideal for applications where cost efficiency is more important than a fragment-free opening behavior of the rupture disc
