Flat Metal Rupture Disks STRIKO SF-M

STRIKO SF-M flat metal rupture disks are passive pressure relief devices for vessels, piping, reactors, and closed process systems. They are installed directly between flanges or in SHF / SHF Pro holders when improved seating, tightening repeatability, and easier replacement after activation are required.

Technical Specifications

  • Series: SF-M, composite flat metal disk
  • Diameters: DN 15 to DN 600 (official), up to DN 800 (catalogue)
  • Burst pressure: from 0.025 bar(g) up to approx. 30 bar(g); special designs from 15 mbar
  • Working ratio: up to 80%, depending on material and application
  • Burst tolerance: from ±5%
  • Temperature: -120°C to +260°C with PFA, up to +480°C in all-metal versions
  • Materials: stainless steels, nickel, tantalum, Inconel, Hastelloy, and special alloys

Suitable Media and Conditions

SF-M disks are used for gases, steam, liquids, and multiphase media. The flat geometry is suitable for locations with restricted installation height and static operating pressures. For vacuum or backpressure applications, select the vacuum-supported version or an appropriate holder arrangement.

Variant Differences

  • SF-M: standard composite flat disk for overpressure relief
  • SF-MV: version with integrated vacuum support
  • SF-MD: bidirectional, defined activation for overpressure in one direction and vacuum in the opposite

Standards and Certifications

Selection is based on PED 2014/68/EU, DIN EN ISO 4126-2, AD 2000-Merkblatt A1, ASME Section VIII Div.1, and where required, API 520. Product page lists available ISO 9001:2015 and QS 2014/68/EU Module D certificates.

FAQ

Is the disk replaced after activation?
Yes. The disk is a non-reclosing device.

Can it be installed upstream of a safety valve?
Under certain conditions, provided backpressure, relief area, and valve compatibility are verified.
