Miyawaki RE20L Steam Pressure Reducing Valve with Pulse Line
The Miyawaki RE20L is a direct-acting steam pressure reducing valve featuring an external pulse line on the low-pressure side. The downstream pressure is detected in a measurement chamber, and the main valve position is mechanically adjusted to maintain the outlet pressure at the selected set point. No electrical or pneumatic actuator is required.
Technical Data
- DN15–DN200, flanged connection DIN/EN.
- Body made of ductile cast iron EN-GJS-400-15 / GGG-40.
- Available in PN16 and PN25 versions.
- PMO: 1.5 MPa for PN16 and 2.2 MPa for PN25.
- TMO up to 350°C.
- Downstream pressure setting ranges: 0.05–1.0 MPa, with special options below 0.05 MPa or above 1.0 MPa.
- Minimum differential pressure: 0.5 bar for DN15–DN50, 0.7 bar for DN65–DN125, 1 bar for DN150–DN200.
- Maximum pressure reduction ratio: 25:1.
Operational Selection
The RE20L is selected when actual downstream pressure needs to be sensed at a distance from the valve, such as after diameter changes or in locations where the operating pressure differs from the pressure immediately after the valve. Spring selection is based on the required adjustment range and DN. A gauge option is available on the body.
Applications
Suitable for steam networks in compact consumers, laundries, cleaning systems, food/beverage, and local pressure reduction stations in industrial facilities. The design medium is steam; for air, gases, or liquids, corresponding Miyawaki REA/REAC series are used instead of the RE20L.
Installation and Maintenance
Upstream filter, isolation valves, gauges, maintenance bypass, and downstream safety valve are recommended. For reduction ratios above 25:1, reduction should occur in two stages. Final adjustment is made under actual load conditions, as steam consumption and upstream pressure affect regulation behavior.
