4G Needle Valve Ghidini 658001/Y – ISO 228 F

Manual needle valve designed for small process lines requiring gradual flow adjustment or local isolation. Connection is female/female thread ISO 228, with body and needle made from AISI 316L / 1.4404, polished exterior surface, and handwheel made from Duroplast. Available in sizes 1/4” to 1 1/2”.

Operating Conditions

• Operating Temperature: -20°C to +160°C
• Nominal Pressure: PN 160 for 1/4”, 3/8”, 1/2” and PN 100 for 3/4” to 1 1/2”
• Sealing: O-ring FKM, seats PTFE and PTFE with glass reinforcement
• Operation: manual, suitable for slow opening variation and not for rapid automated adjustment

Applications

Suitable for clean liquids or gases compatible with AISI 316L, FKM, and PTFE. Used in auxiliary process circuits, sampling lines, small CIP/SIP supplies where temperatures permit, laboratory installations, and panel-mounted instrument arrangements.

Not a primary choice for slurries, liquids with solids, high viscosity, or applications requiring full flow cross-section.

658001/Y Panel Variant

The 658001/Y version is intended for panel mounting and includes fastening geometry with additional nuts in the assembly. Selected when the valve needs to have a control on the panel front and the body remains on the piping side.

Standards and Options

The basic connection is ISO 228 female/female. Upon request, an ATEX II 2G Ex h IIC T4 Gb / II 2D Ex h IIIC T135°C Db antistatic arrangement is available, along with M.O.C.A. CE 1935/2004 compliance for food contact applications.

When to choose a needle valve over a ball valve?
When the requirement is for small, controlled flow variation. For simple full-open isolation, a ball valve usually has lower pressure loss.
