WEY Sluice Gate – Types 2, 3 and 4
WEY sluice gates are used to isolate channels, tanks, basins and wall openings in water and wastewater systems. Each unit is engineered according to the clear opening, maximum water head, sealing arrangement and installation method. The gate remains guided throughout its full stroke and provides bidirectional shut-off.
Technical Data
-
Clear width: 200–5000 mm, depending on type and configuration
-
Water head: up to 15 m
-
Frame, gate and stem: stainless steel 1.4404 / 316L
-
Gate guides: chemical- and UV-resistant PE-UHMW
-
Seal materials: NBR or EPDM
-
Clean-water leakage: ≤0.4 l/min per metre of sealing line
-
Tightness reference: DIN 19569-4 and AWWA C501
-
Installation: embedded in concrete or surface-mounted with anchors.
The flush-bottom profile limits debris accumulation in the seating area. A replaceable resilient seal and transverse sealing system with scrapers control leakage in both pressure directions. Gate reinforcement is calculated according to the specified hydrostatic load.
Design and Actuator Options
-
Three-sided or four-sided sealing
-
Straight, inclined or circular bottom profile
-
Self-contained or remotely mounted operating mechanism
-
Square nut with T-key
-
Handwheel or bevel gearbox
-
Pneumatic, hydraulic or electric actuator.
Applications
Wastewater treatment, stormwater networks, flood-control structures, raw-water channels, industrial-water systems, potable-water plants and seawater installations.
FAQ
What data are required for selection?
Clear width and height, maximum water level, pressure direction, medium, installation geometry and actuator type.
What maintenance is required?
Guides, stem and sealing surfaces require periodic cleaning, lubrication and functional cycling. Alignment must be maintained to prevent frame distortion and increased operating force.
