WEY Sluice Gate – Types 2, 3 and 4

WEY sluice gates are used to isolate channels, tanks, basins and wall openings in water and wastewater systems. Each unit is engineered according to the clear opening, maximum water head, sealing arrangement and installation method. The gate remains guided throughout its full stroke and provides bidirectional shut-off.

Technical Data

  • Clear width: 200–5000 mm, depending on type and configuration

  • Water head: up to 15 m

  • Frame, gate and stem: stainless steel 1.4404 / 316L

  • Gate guides: chemical- and UV-resistant PE-UHMW

  • Seal materials: NBR or EPDM

  • Clean-water leakage: ≤0.4 l/min per metre of sealing line

  • Tightness reference: DIN 19569-4 and AWWA C501

  • Installation: embedded in concrete or surface-mounted with anchors.

The flush-bottom profile limits debris accumulation in the seating area. A replaceable resilient seal and transverse sealing system with scrapers control leakage in both pressure directions. Gate reinforcement is calculated according to the specified hydrostatic load.

Guides, stem and sealing surfaces require periodic cleaning, lubrication and functional cycling. Alignment must be maintained to prevent frame distortion and increased operating force.

Our type 2, 3, and 4 sluice gates are all based on the same well thought-out design principle. Every one of our sluice gates is custom-made with great care. Thanks to the circumferential transverse seal and double scraper, our sluice gates are much tighter than the standard prescribes – and are tight in both flow directions.
