Hafner ATEX Mechanical Air Valves

Hafner ATEX-certified mechanical valves are specified for pneumatic circuits in hazardous areas where actuation must be mechanical rather than solenoid-based. These valves are suitable for end-of-stroke detection, mechanical interlocks, and pneumatic sequencing in environments requiring ATEX documentation and compliance.

Available Versions

  • BV 311 301 Ex: Plunger valve, 3/2, single-acting, spring return, NC/NO configuration, G 1/8” ports, flow rate 280 l/min, pressure range -0.9…10 bar, actuation force 14 N.
  • BV 511 301 Ex: Plunger valve, 5/2, single-acting, spring return, G 1/8”, 280 l/min, -0.9…10 bar, actuation force 14 N.
  • BA 311 301 Ex: Panel-mounted, Ø22 mm hole, 3/2 NC/NO, G 1/8”, 280 l/min, -0.9…10 bar.
  • BA 511 301 Ex: Panel-mounted, 5/2, G 1/8”, 280 l/min, -0.9…10 bar.

Operation and Selection

3/2 valves are used for pneumatic signaling or single-acting cylinders. 5/2 valves are intended for double-acting cylinders, alternating supply and exhaust between actuator sides.

Selection criteria include:

  • 3/2 or 5/2 function,
  • NC or NO configuration,
  • mechanical plunger or panel push actuation,
  • required actuation force,
  • line pressure and flow demand,
  • installation location within ATEX zone.

Applications

Typical uses: cylinder end-position feedback, mechanical sequencing, pneumatic panels in hazardous zones, packaging systems, chemical plants, and installations where electrical actuation at the switching point is not permitted.

Maintenance

Routine checks: air quality, leakage at exhausts, spring return integrity, plunger wear, secure panel mounting, and absence of trapped pressure. In ATEX installations, replacement must use an equivalent certified valve.
