Globe Forged Steel Neway Steam Trap

Forged globe steam trap for small diameters and high pressure ratings. The series covers NPS 1/2"–2" / DN15–DN50, with ASME Class 150–4500 / PN16–PN760, depending on body, bonnet, and end connection configurations. Used in steam lines, condensate, water, auxiliary processes, hydrocarbons, and chemical fluids.

Construction

  • Body: forged steel
  • Type: globe valve with stuffing box
  • Design: API 602, OS&Y, rising stem
  • Bonnet: bolted, welded, or pressure seal, per class and application
  • Ends: RF, RTJ, BW, SW, NPT
  • Operation: manual, pneumatic, electric, or hydraulic

Materials and Trim

Available in carbon steel, stainless steel, alloy steel, duplex stainless steel, nickel base alloys, and titanium alloys. Technical datasheet includes bodies ASTM A105N, A182 F11/F22, and A182 F304/F316. Seats may feature Stellite 6 overlay, with packing typically graphite.

Application Selection

For isolation in small high-pressure lines, a plug disc is typically used. Frequent operation or throttling requires checking differential pressure, flow velocity, and potential seat/disc erosion. For high-temperature service, consider alloy steels and appropriate bolting/packing materials.

Version Differences

Bolted bonnet allows easier disassembly. Welded bonnet reduces potential external leaks at the body-bonnet joint. Pressure seal bonnet is chosen for high pressures, where internal pressure aids in sealing the bonnet seal.

FAQ

When to choose forged over cast globe?

In small diameters, high pressures, or applications requiring a compact body with high mechanical strength.

Is it suitable for flanged installation?

Yes, RF and RTJ versions are available. For permanent high-pressure lines, consider BW or SW ends.
