Globe Cast Steel Neway Steam Valve

Cast steel globe valve designed for isolation and controlled throttling in industrial steam, water, condensate, thermal oil, hydrocarbon, and process fluid lines. The series range is NPS 2"–24" / DN50–DN600 and ASME Class 150–4500, depending on body and bonnet configuration.

Construction

  • Body: cast steel
  • Bonnet: bolted bonnet or pressure seal, per pressure class
  • Stem: OS&Y, rising stem and rising handwheel
  • Disc: swivel disc
  • Seat: Stellite 6 as standard seat face
  • Connections: RF, RTJ, or BW
  • Operation: manual, gear, pneumatic, electric, or hydraulic

Materials and Service Conditions

Material selection is based on temperature, corrosion, H₂S service, and project requirements. Available categories include carbon steel, stainless steel, alloy steel, duplex stainless steel, low-temperature steel, nickel steel, and titanium alloy. Indicative versions include WCB for standard service, LCC for low-temperature service, WC9 for high-temperature service, and CF8M for stainless construction.

Standards and Testing

Face-to-face / end-to-end lengths follow BS EN 558, BS EN 12627, ASME B16.10, or ISO 5752. Flanges comply with ASME B16.5 / B16.47, BW ends with ASME B16.25, and testing with API 598 or EN 12266.

Selection Criteria

Selection must consider:

  • pressure class and design temperature
  • requirement for RF, RTJ, or butt weld ends
  • on/off use or throttling
  • trim material and seat leakage requirement
  • packing, fugitive emission requirement, and repacking capability
  • need for gear or actuator for large diameters

For throttling, a parabola disc may be considered. For fugitive emission applications, low-emission packing, live-loaded eye bolt, and testing per ISO 15848-2 or Shell MESC 77/312 are available.

FAQ

When to use a globe instead of a gate valve?

When better flow control or more frequent operation is required. Globe valves have higher pressure drop than gate valves.

Is it suitable for sour service?

Yes, with appropriate material selection and hardness per NACE MR0175 / MR0103 for H₂S environments.
