Globe Pressure Seal Cast Steel Neway

The cast steel globe valve with a pressure seal bonnet is designed for high-pressure lines. The series range is NPS 2"–40" / DN50–DN1000 and ASME Class 600–4500 / PN100–PN760, with RF, RTJ, or BW ends and manual, gear, pneumatic, electric, or hydraulic actuation.

Construction

  • Designed according to ASME B16.34
  • Pressure seal body-bonnet connection
  • OS&Y, rising stem, and rising handwheel
  • Swivel disc for improved seat alignment
  • Gear operator based on size and pressure class
  • Seat ring with Stellite 6 overlay and seal-welded installation

Materials and Sealing

Available materials include carbon steel, alloy steel, low-temperature steel, duplex stainless steel, nickel base, and titanium alloys. The material list includes versions for standard service, stainless steel, and high-temperature service, with materials like ASTM A216 WCB, ASTM A351 CF8M, ASTM A217 WC6/WC9/C12A, and graphite bonnet seal ring/packing.

Application Scope

Suitable for high-pressure steam, main steam, boiler feedwater, bypass, blowdown, thermal circuits, refineries, and processes where bolted bonnet connections are not preferred due to pressure. Selection is based on class, temperature, body material, trim, end type, and leakage requirements in seat and packing.

Reference Dimensions

The technical brochure provides indicative dimensions for Class 600, 900, 1500, and 2500 cast carbon steel globe valves. For Class 1500, sizes up to 24" are mentioned, while for Class 2500, the range extends up to 14".

FAQ

When is a pressure seal globe selected?

In high-pressure applications where internal pressure aids in loading the seal ring and sealing the body-bonnet connection.

Is it suitable for throttling?

It can be used for throttling, but Δp, velocity, noise, potential seat/disc erosion, and thermal stress on trim must be checked.
