Neway Parallel Slide Valve

The Neway Parallel Slide Valve is designed for isolation in high-pressure and high-temperature applications, primarily in steam, feedwater, power plants, refineries, and chemical processes. It is used for on/off service and is not intended for flow regulation or intermediate positioning.

Operating Principle

Sealing does not rely on a wedge-type mechanism. The parallel slide design employs two spring-loaded sealing members for initial contact at low pressure. As line pressure increases, the fluid forces the sealing members against the seats, creating the primary seal.

Technical Specifications

  • Sizes: NPS 2"–88" / DN50–DN2200
  • Pressure class: Class 300–4500 / PN25–PN760
  • Body materials: carbon steel, alloy steel, duplex stainless steel
  • End connections: RF, RTJ, BW
  • Operation: manual, pneumatic, electric, or hydraulic

Selection vs. Wedge Gate Valve

The parallel slide valve is chosen for applications with thermal cycles, high differential pressure, or increased risk of thermal binding. Unlike flexible wedge designs, it does not require significant mechanical wedging for sealing, as line pressure assists in seat loading.

Application Areas

Suitable media include clean steam, superheated steam, boiler feedwater, condensates, thermal fluids, and process gases. For liquids with solids or deposits, erosion control and seat cleanliness are necessary.

FAQ

When is an actuator needed?
For large DN, high ΔP, or frequent operation. Torque, stem travel, operating time, and limit switches are considered.

RF, RTJ, or BW?
RF for standard flanged lines, RTJ for higher pressure classes, BW for critical steam/feedwater lines.

Is it suitable for throttling?
No. Operation should be fully open or fully closed.
