Comeval Fig. 90 Gate Valve

The Comeval Fig. 90 is a metal-seated full bore gate valve designed for flow isolation in process lines, steam, gases, petrochemicals, HTF, compressed air, and industrial water. It is intended for on/off use; throttling is not recommended as intermediate positions increase seat wear, vibration, and leakage risk.

Materials and Sealing

Body available in ASTM A216 WCB, A352 LCB, A217 WC1/WC6/WC9/C5/C12, and stainless steel versions ASTM A351 CF8, CF8M, CF3, CF3M. Atmospheric sealing with flexible graphite rings. Trim options include 13Cr or hard facing for high wear applications.

Selection based on:

  • Operating pressure and temperature
  • Body material against fluid and corrosion
  • Connection type RF, RTJ, or BW
  • Requirement for NACE MR0175, bellows seal, extended bonnet, or live-loaded packing
  • Operating torque and need for manual, electric, pneumatic, or hydraulic actuation.

Installation and Maintenance

Valve must be installed without bending or torsional loads from piping. Flanged connections require proper alignment, suitable gasket, and cross-tightening. For steam, gradual preheating, condensate drainage, and slow operation are necessary to avoid water hammer. Graphite packing may need retightening after startup.

No. It is an isolation valve.

In steam, high ΔP, corrosive solids, or frequent operation.

Description

Metal seated gate valves, bidirectional, for stopping the flow in process, power and oil&gas applications. The atmospheric sealing is achieved by flexible graphite rings or by bellows. Operated by handwheel, gear or actuator.
