Fluitek Compact Design Gate Valve

The Fluitek Compact Design is a forged gate valve for small diameters, designed for flow isolation in high-pressure lines. The series covers sizes from 1/2" to 2" and pressure classes Class 900, 1500, 2500, and 4500, designed according to API 602 / ISO 15761 or EN 12516.

Construction

The compact geometry is used when installation space is limited or when a forged body is required in small DN. Construction options include:

  • bolted bonnet
  • seal welded bonnet
  • full penetration welded bonnet
  • pressure seal bonnet

Bonnet selection depends on pressure class, temperature, maintenance requirements, and leakage policy of the installation.

Materials

Materials available according to ASTM/ASME, harmonized EN, or special non-harmonized materials:

  • carbon steel
  • low temperature carbon steel
  • low alloy steel
  • austenitic stainless steel
  • duplex stainless steel
  • nickel alloys

Material selection should be based on pressure-temperature rating, corrosion, thermal cycles, fluid compatibility, and any sour service or special metallurgy requirements.

Applications

Suitable for isolation in small high-pressure lines: steam, auxiliary circuits in power plants, process fluids, gases, hydrocarbons, and chemical services, provided materials, packing, and pressure class are confirmed. Not used as a flow control valve.

Standards and Certifications

Compliance or available certifications include PED 2014/68/EU, ATEX 2014/34/EU, IEC 61508/SIL, API 6A / ISO 10423, API 6D, API 6DSS, TR-CU, and the possibility of compliance with AD2000.

FAQ

When is compact design chosen?
For small DN and high pressure class, when forged construction and limited envelope are required.

Bolted or welded bonnet?
Bolted for inspection capability. Welded or pressure seal when priority is on high pressure and minimizing potential leakage points.

What should be checked before ordering?
Class, DN, body material, bonnet type, temperature, fluid, end connection, and required documentation.

Description

FLUITEK ORSENIGO VALVES has applied its extended experience in high pressure applications of gate valves to a line of small size (1/2” to 2”) forged construction specially designed gate valves. Standard of reference is API 602 / ISO 15761 and/or EN 12516.

Materials are either the traditional ASTM/ASME materials, harmonized EN materials or special non-harmonized materials (ranging as usual from carbon steel, low temperature carbon steel, low alloy steel, austenitic stainless steel, austenitic-ferritic stainless steel, nickel alloys). Pressure classes are normally on the high range side (900#, 1500#, 2500#, 4500#). Construction is either with bolted bonnet, seal welded bonnet, full penetration welded bonnet, pressure seal bonnet (as below sketched). Dimensions are per specific design, depending on customer specifications. Compliance with AD2000 requirements is available.
