KITO G 30 N – Bidirectional In-Line Flame Arrester

The KITO® FS-Det4-IIA-…-1.2 is a bidirectional in-line flame arrester designed for installation in gas-phase piping, primarily in ignition gas lines and instrument protection lines. The device limits the propagation of stable explosions and is tested as a detonation flame arrester type 4.

Operating Limits

  • Explosion groups: IIA1 to IIA
  • MESG: > 0.9 mm
  • Max operating pressure: 1.2 bar abs.
  • Max operating temperature: 60 °C
  • Protection function: bidirectional
  • Connection: internal and external thread

Connections and Dimensions

Thread sizes from G ½" to G 2" are available. Body height is 69 mm for G ½" to G 1", and 107 mm for G 1¼" to G 2". Size selection should be based on flow rate, allowable pressure drop, and pipe diameter, not only nominal thread size.

Materials and Sealing

Technical data specifies a stainless steel 1.4571 body, PTFE gasket, KITO® grid in 1.4571, and intermediate layer in 1.4571. PTFE compatibility with process gas or vapor must be verified for each application.

Application Selection

The G 30 N differs from G 26–G 28 series as the available data sheet does not list -T / -TT versions, PT100, or stabilized burning endurance. For continuous or stabilized burning risk, select a type with appropriate certification and thermal monitoring.

Flow curves are based on air density 1.29 kg/m³ at 273 K and atmospheric pressure. Correction for other gases is required based on density.

Certifications

Supplied with type certificate per EN ISO 16852 and CE marking according to ATEX 2014/34/EU.

FAQ

Does it cover IIB or IIC?
No. Approval is limited to IIA1 to IIA.

Is it a check valve?
No. It is a passive flame transmission barrier, not a non-return valve.

Is there an actuator?
No. This is not an actuated valve.
