Neway CAB – Angle Control Valve Resistant to Erosion

The Neway CAB Abrasion / Erosion Resistance Angle Control Valve is a proportional angle body valve designed for throttling service in fluids containing solid particles, flashing, or increased outlet velocity. The angular geometry reduces directional changes in piping, allowing better wear management in the downstream section.

Construction Range

The product page specifies 1"–12" / DN25–DN300, while the Neway brochure for CAB lists 2"–12"; available diameters should be confirmed per project. The pressure rating is ASME Class 150–1500 / PN16–PN260. Bodies are available in carbon steel, stainless steel, alloy steel, and duplex stainless steel.

Trim and Seat Design

The CAB uses an angle body, Venturi seat, and trim made from stainless steel, alloy steel, or duplex stainless steel. The Venturi seat reduces local velocity and direct impact on the seat, crucial for slurries, coal chemical service, and lines with flashing.

Control Characteristics

Available characteristics include equal percentage, linear, and quick open, with a rangeability of 50:1. The temperature range in the brochure is -196°C to +538°C, with standard or extension bonnet. Connections include FF, RF, RTJ, and LF.

Leakage and Actuation

Seat leakage is defined by FCI 70-2 Class IV or V. Class V selection requires trim control, Δp, and fluid cleanliness. The valve can be paired with a PDL pneumatic actuator, PCL cylinder actuator, or electric actuator type AUMA / ROTORK.
