ADCA ADCAMat PPA312 Condensate Pump

The PPA312 is a mechanical pressure-driven condensate pump designed for the transfer of hot steam condensate, oils, and non-hazardous liquids compatible with its construction materials. It is utilized when the liquid needs to be elevated or directed into a return line with backpressure, without using an electric pump.

Operation

Filling occurs by gravity through a check valve. The float sequentially activates the driving medium inlet and venting. Pressure in the body increases until it exceeds the total backpressure, displacing the condensate towards the outlet.

Technical Specifications

  • Sizes: DN 50 x 50 and DN 80 x 50
  • Connections: EN 1092-1 PN 16, ASME B16.5 Class 150, ISO 7 Rp with threaded flanges
  • Basic version: PPA312S made of carbon steel
  • Driving medium: saturated steam, compressed air, nitrogen, or other gases
  • Driving medium pressure: 1–10 bar
  • Operating temperature: 20–185°C
  • Displacement per cycle: 45 L
  • Flow rate: up to 7540 kg/h with 300 mm filling height, depending on DN, driving pressure, and backpressure

Materials and Sealing

The body is made from P265GH / P235GH / S235JR, the cover from GJS-400-15, and the internal operating parts from stainless steel. The cover gasket is stainless/graphite, the springs are Inconel, and the check valves are A351 CF8M / 1.4408.

Applications

  • Condensate return to higher pressure network
  • Condensate lifting from low level
  • Draining steam equipment with variable backpressure
  • Stall applications, in combination with a suitable steam trap when required

Selection

Sizing requires condensate load, pressure and type of driving medium, total backpressure, elevation height, piping losses, and available filling height. Correction factors apply for gases instead of steam and for filling heights other than 300 mm.

FAQ

Is it a pump-trap?
No. It is a pressure pump. In stall applications, it can operate with a separate steam trap.

Does it require electricity?
No. Operation is achieved with steam, air, or driving gas.
