Hafner Electromagnetic Valve Coils
Hafner coils are used for the electrical actuation of pneumatic valves in the MD and MH series. Coil selection is not based solely on voltage; engineers must verify coil system compatibility, connector type, power consumption, valve interface, and control panel requirements.
Coil Series Overview
- MA16: For MD-series 16 mm valves. Connection via Form C (DIN EN 175301-803) or 500 mm cable version. Available in 6, 12, 24 V DC and 24, 110, 230 V AC. Power: 1.8 W DC or 3 VA AC.
- MA22: For MH-series valves. Form B (DIN EN 175301-803 / DIN 43650) connection. Voltages: 12, 24, 48 V DC; 24, 110, 230 V AC. Power: 3 W DC or 5 VA AC. Cable versions available.
- MA30 S9: Form A coil for MH-series. Options: 24 V DC / 2 W or 230 V AC / 3 VA.
Selection Criteria
Coil selection should confirm:
- Control voltage (PLC or panel)
- AC or DC supply
- Connector type: Form A, B, or C
- Power consumption per coil
- Continuous or pulsed operation
- Available installation space
- Requirement for cable vs. detachable connector
Industrial Panel Integration
In valve manifolds, total coil load must be calculated for power supply, fuse sizing, and PLC output capacity. For DC circuits, polarity must be checked if LED indicators or protective elements are present in the connector.
Maintenance and Replacement
For faults, check voltage at coil terminals, thermal stress, mechanical fastening, connector condition, moisture, and contact oxidation. Replacement must use identical coil type and electrical characteristics. For ATEX zones, only certified coils are permitted.
