Alfa Europe S52A / S62A Butterfly Valve

The S52A / S62A series consists of central disc butterfly valves made from fully austenitic stainless steel, featuring a replaceable seat. Available in wafer and lug versions for installation between flanges in industrial flow isolation networks. Sizes range from DN40 to DN600, designed according to EN 593 and face-to-face per EN 558-1 Series 20.

Sealing and Construction

The cassette / replaceable liner design allows seat replacement without replacing the entire valve, provided the body and disc remain within specifications. Construction includes a double O-ring on the stem, blow-out proof stem, and spline stem-disc connection, reducing shaft leakage risk and improving torque transmission.

S52A vs. S62A

  • S52A wafer: Suitable for compact installation between flanges, where disassembly of one side of the network is not required.
  • S62A lug: Preferred when mechanical retention with lugs or the ability to maintain a section of piping is required.

Applications

Used in HVAC, data centers, cold/hot water, glycol circuits, auxiliary industrial networks, and neutral fluids. For steam, strong chemicals, or corrosive media, compatibility checks for liner, disc, and temperature are required.

Actuation

Accepts manual handle, gearbox, pneumatic or electric actuator, as well as switchbox or solenoid valve for on/off automation.

Is it a control valve?
Can be used for limited throttling, but for continuous analog control, a control valve is preferred.
