Neway Forged Steel Bellow Seal Globe Valve

The Neway forged steel bellow seal globe valve is a small diameter valve designed for line isolation where stem leakage must be minimized using a metallic bellows and secondary packing. The series covers NPS 1/2"–2" / DN15–DN50, ASME Class 150–1500 / PN16–PN260, with bodies available in carbon steel, stainless steel, alloy steel, and duplex stainless steel.

Construction and Connections

Versions include bolted bonnet, welded bonnet, and flanged configurations. For forged globe bellows valves, standards include API 602, outside screw & yoke, threaded/socket weld ends, and flanged versions with lengths per ASME B16.10 and flanges per ASME B16.5. Available ends: RF, RTJ, BW, SW, and NPT.

Materials and Sealing

In basic configurations, the body can be ASTM A105N, for high temperature ASTM A182 F11/F22, and in stainless versions ASTM A182 F304/F316. The bellows is ASTM A276 316Ti, packing is graphite, and the gasket is spiral wound graphite with a stainless carrier.

Application Selection

Selection should consider:

  • Class and pressure-temperature rating of the line.
  • NPS, bore, and end-to-end dimension.
  • Compatibility of body, trim, bellows, and packing with the medium.
  • Differential pressure across the disc and required operating torque.
  • Manual, pneumatic, electric, or hydraulic actuation.

Typical Media and Uses

Suitable for steam, condensate, hot water, thermal circuits, process gases, and auxiliary lines in chemical or power installations. Forged construction is preferred for small diameters with high ratings, where reduced pressure boundary and controlled stem sealing are required.

FAQ

When to choose forged over cast steel?
For small diameters, higher pressure classes, and compact piping layouts.

Is it a control valve?
Primarily for isolation. For throttling, check ΔP, velocity, noise, and seat wear.

What to specify in an order?
NPS, Class, body material, end type, medium, operating pressure/temperature, trim, and actuation type.
