NORIS Bauform 885-D – Flow Indicator with Dual Safety Windows

The NORIS 885-D is a straight-through sight flow indicator, compliant with DIN 3236, featuring flanged connections DIN PN16 or PN25. It is equipped with dual glass plates on each observation side, ensuring each plate withstands the full nominal pressure. In the event of one plate failing, the second plate acts as a barrier to the environment.

Materials and Sealing

The body is available in GS-C25 or stainless steel WN 1.4408. Covers are GS-C25 / S235JRG2 or 1.4408 / 1.4571. Bolts are galvanized 5.6 or A4-70. Windows are borosilicate glass DIN 7080. Sealing is achieved with a PTFE-covered system according to DIN 28121, with asbestos-free cushion gasket and protection ply.

Process Application

The 885-D model is selected when visual flow monitoring must be combined with an additional retention barrier. It is applicable in process water, condensate, auxiliary networks, gases, and chemical liquids compatible with GS-C25 or 1.4408.

Difference from NORIS 885

The 885 is a safety sight flow indicator with glass sealing according to DIN 28121. The 885-D adds a dual window arrangement per side, for applications where maintaining seal integrity in case of one plate breaking is a selection criterion.

Options

Other materials, observation lighting, spinner or flap, and a heating unit in the intermediate space to reduce fogging are available. It does not accept an actuator; it is a passive visual inspection component.
