NORIS Bauform 880-HM – Flow Indicator with Heating Jacket

The NORIS 880-HM is a straight-line sight flow indicator, based on the Bauform 880 series, featuring an integrated heating jacket. It is utilized when thermal losses or fluid cooling in the observation area need to be minimized. A suitable heating or thermostatic medium can circulate within the jacket cavity.

Functional Purpose of the Jacket

The jacket does not alter the basic function of the flow indicator. It allows thermal support around the observation body, useful for fluids that exhibit:

• viscosity increase with temperature drop
• risk of solidification or crystallization
• need for process temperature maintenance
• condensation or heat loss at the glass area

Typical Applications

Used in lines with heated oils, resins, viscous liquids, chemical products, and processes where visual monitoring must occur without local fluid cooling. The jacket medium should be selected based on process temperature, auxiliary network pressure, and material compatibility.

Difference from NORIS 880

The 880-HM retains the geometry and available pressures/dimensions of the 880 series but adds a heating jacket around the body. It is not a measuring instrument and does not provide an electrical signal.

Does it accept an actuator?
No. It is a passive flow indicator. The jacket is for thermal management, not automation.
