NORIS Type 112 – Double-Sided Flow Indicator PN16

The NORIS 112 is a straight-through, double-sided flow indicator with DIN flanges, designed for visual monitoring of filling and flow in industrial pipelines. In horizontal installations, its body geometry minimizes residual liquid retention, beneficial for discharge, cleaning, or product change lines.

Materials and Sealing

The body is available in WN 1.4571 or 1.4404. Covers are stainless steel, bolts are A4-70, and sight glasses are borosilicate per DIN 7080 or soda-lime per DIN 8902. Standard sealing is graphite, with other materials available for chemical compatibility or temperature requirements.

Applications

Used in process water, compatible chemical liquids, auxiliary circuits, gases, and lines where operators need to locally verify flow, fill level, bubbles, or fluid color change. It is not a flow meter and does not provide an electrical control signal.

Type Selection

The 112 accommodates larger diameters than smaller double-sided indicators, with a range up to DN400. It is selected when the pipeline is PN16 and observation from two sides in a metal body is required, as opposed to a tubular glass indicator.

FAQ

Does it accept an actuator?
No. It is a passive flow indicator. The available electrical option is for observation lighting.

What should be specified in the order?
DN, PN16, temperature, body material, glass type, gasket material, fluid, and any need for ANSI flanges or increased length.
