SonFlow / DanPumps S-FP Hygienic Centrifugal Pumps
The S-FP series comprises hygienic centrifugal pumps designed for transfer of process media in food, beverage, pharmaceutical, and cosmetic production lines. Flow rates up to 100 m³/h are supported. These pumps are specified for applications requiring gentle handling of temperature- or shear-sensitive fluids.
Hygienic Design and Cleaning
Construction is optimized for CIP (Clean-In-Place) procedures without pump disassembly. Internal surfaces are polished/electropolished to Ra < 0.8 μm. The pump is fully drainable and EHEDG certified for hygienic operation.
Hydraulic Section
The semi-open stainless steel impeller is suitable for low-viscosity liquids and products containing small particulates. Impeller and backplate geometry are engineered for stable flow and to minimize mechanical stress on the medium. Discharge orientation is adjustable 360° to accommodate piping layouts.
Mechanical Sealing
S-FP pumps can be fitted with single or double cartridge mechanical seals. Single seals are used for water, milk, beer, and non-adhesive fluids. Double seals with flush are specified for sugar solutions, syrups, and media prone to crystallization or adhesion.
Applications and Media
Typical process media include:
- Milk, whey, cream, condensed milk
- Juices, syrups, wort, yeast
- Egg, vegetable oils, starch, glucose
- Infusion solutions, lotions, plant extracts
- Detergents, alkaline and acidic solutions (subject to material compatibility)
Elastomers and Temperature Range
Operating temperature: -20 °C to +140 °C. O-rings available: EPDM (up to 130 °C), Viton (up to 210 °C). Selection based on process temperature, CIP chemicals, and chemical compatibility.
FAQ
When is double mechanical sealing required?
For adhesive, crystallizing, or sensitive products where seal flushing is necessary.
What should be verified before selection?
Flow rate, differential head, available NPSH, temperature, viscosity, CIP chemistry, O-ring material, and EHEDG requirements.
