Miyawaki REC20L Steam Pressure Reducing Valve with Pulse Line

The Miyawaki REC20L is a direct-acting steam pressure reducing valve featuring an external downstream pressure sensing line. The secondary side pressure is directed to the sensing chamber, and the valve position is mechanically adjusted to maintain the set point without the need for an electric or pneumatic actuator.

Technical Data

  • DN15–DN200.
  • Body made of stainless cast steel GX5CrNiMo19-11-2 / 1.4408.
  • Body nominal class PN40.
  • PMA 4.0 MPa, TMA 400°C.
  • PMO 2.9 MPa, TMO 400°C.
  • Kvs from 8.0 to 483 m³/h, depending on DN.
  • Standard downstream setting ranges: 0.05–1.0 MPa.
  • Settings below 0.05 MPa or above 1.6 MPa upon technical selection.
  • Maximum pressure reduction ratio: 25:1.

Difference from RE20L

The REC20L is the stainless steel version of the series with a pulse line for steam. It is selected when the body material must be stainless due to installation environment, cleanliness requirements, corrosion, or installation specifications. Compared to ductile cast iron versions, it offers a higher margin in body temperature/pressure, with PN40 and PMO 2.9 MPa.

Operational Use

The valve is applied in local steam reduction stations, compact consumer steam boilers, cleaning systems, food equipment, and lines where actual operating pressure must be measured downstream via a pulse line. The series supports horizontal or vertical installation, bypass operation, and automatic venting.

Selection Points

Correct sizing requires p1, p2, steam flow rate, temperature, piping DN, Kvs, available differential pressure, and reduction ratio. If the p1/p2 ratio exceeds 25:1, pressure reduction should be considered in two stages.

Description

Features

Pressure reducing valves for steam

These are automatic valves that reduce the steam supply pressure to the certified pressure for the device in use, and keep it steady.

Due to carefully selected springs a wide range of pressure applications is available.

As option the valve can be equipped with a pressure gauge on the valve body.

Operating features of direct acting pressure reducing valves

Pressure changes on the secondary side are detected in the detection chamber, and the degree of opening of the valve is directly adjusted to keep the pressure on the secondary side at a set level.

Maximum pressure reduction ratio 25:1

Uses

Perfect for cleaning devices, foodstuff devices, and other forms of compact steam equipment.
