Hafner Stainless Steel Solenoid Valves

Hafner INOX stainless steel valves are specified for pneumatic circuits where aluminium bodies are unsuitable due to humidity, washdown requirements, outdoor installation, or chemically aggressive environments. Valve bodies are constructed from stainless steel 316L / 1.4404. Available configurations include 3/2, 5/2, and 5/3 for compressed air control.

Available Functions

• 3/2 NC or NO: For pneumatic signals, single-acting actuators, and on/off pilot control. Typical flow rates: 50 l/min (G 1/8”) and 1250 l/min (G 1/4”).
• 5/2 single solenoid: For double-acting cylinders with air return. Available in G 1/4” (1250 l/min) and G 1/2” (3000 l/min).
• 5/2 double solenoid: Bi-stable valves retain last position until an opposite electrical signal is applied.
• 5/3: Centre closed, centre exhausted, or centre pressurised options for cylinder control during signal loss.

Materials and Sealing

Series 701 includes VES and KES variants. VES uses a 1.4404 pilot head; KES uses a PA pilot head. Standard seals are PUR with additional FKM elastomers. 121 VES models use FKM seals exclusively.

Operating Conditions

Typical pressure ranges: 1…10 bar, 2…10 bar, or 3…10 bar depending on configuration. Coil consumption: 3 W DC / 5 VA AC. Operating temperature: -10…+50 °C for selected models. Coil voltages: 230 V AC, 110 V AC, 24 V AC, 48 V DC, 24 V DC, 12 V DC.

Applications

Suitable for food and beverage processing, washdown lines, marine installations, chemical industry, outdoor pneumatic panels, and process valve actuation via NAMUR interfaces.

Selection Criteria

Selection should consider NC/NO function, port count, flow rate, pressure class, G or NPT connection, pilot head type, FKM/PUR compatibility, coil voltage, and manual override requirements. ATEX zones require a certified version; standard INOX is not sufficient for hazardous areas.
