Adler S.p.A. – Technical profile of an industrial ball valve manufacturer

Adler S.p.A. is an Italian manufacturer specialising in industrial ball valves. The company states that it was founded in 1989 and that its production is based in Santo Stefano Ticino, Italy.

The Adler product range includes a wide variety of ball valve designs, such as:

Two-piece split-body ball valves are used for industrial isolation of liquids and gases where compact construction and defined sealing performance are required. Three-way valves are used for diverting or mixing duties and must be selected according to the required flow path, not only by nominal diameter.

Cryogenic ball valves require specific engineering checks. The extended bonnet, stem sealing system, low-temperature materials, cavity relief and test procedure must be verified. The use of stainless steel alone is not sufficient to qualify a valve for cryogenic service.

Jacketed ball valves are used where the process fluid must remain heated inside the valve body. They are relevant for waxes, resins, bitumen, crystallising products or temperature-sensitive fluids. The jacket medium, pressure and temperature must be checked separately from the main process side.

Technical selection should include:

  • valve type and flow function,
  • DN / NPS and pressure class,
  • body and ball material,
  • seat and seal material,
  • full bore, reduced bore or Venturi port,
  • cryogenic or heated-jacket requirement,
  • end connection,
  • manual or actuated operation,
  • Fire Safe, ATEX or project-specific requirements where applicable.
