ARI-FABA®-Supra C ANSI — Bellows Seal Chemical Version

The ARI-FABA®-Supra C ANSI is a globe stop valve with a bellows seal designed for isolating steam lines, hot water, thermal oil, gases, and process liquids. The Supra C version is the chemical version of the series, featuring a V-port plug and marginal seat as standard configuration.

Connection Versions

  • Fig. 141: Flanged, Class 150 / Class 300, body SA216WCB, DN15–DN250 / NPS 1/2"–10".
  • Fig. 149: NPT/BSP or socket weld, Class 300, body SA105, DN15–DN50 / NPS 1/2"–2".
  • Flanges according to ASME / ANSI B16.5, face-to-face according to ANSI B16.10.
  • NPT according to ASME / ANSI B1.20.1, BSP according to DIN ISO 228, socket weld according to ASME / ANSI B16.11.

Materials and Sealing

The bellows is SA240 Gr.316Ti, the stem is SA479 Gr.316Ti, and secondary sealing is achieved with pure graphite. The seat is E347-16 and the plug, depending on DN, is hardened SA276 Gr.420 or SA516 Gr.60 / Stellite 21.

Selection Limits

The Kvs values for the flanged version are approximately 4–796 m³/h for Class 150 and 4.4–885 m³/h for Class 300. In the Fig.149 version, they are 2.6–23.5 m³/h. For high differential pressure, a balancing plug is required: DN150 above 21 bar, DN200 above 14 bar, DN250 above 9 bar.

Temperature and Automation

Pressure-temperature ratings for SA216WCB / SA105 reach up to 427°C, with corresponding pressure reduction per Class. Soft seal PTFE + 25% carbon is limited to 200°C. A pneumatic actuator ARI-FA can be installed on Supra versions with a two-piece stem, up to 250°C medium, not in configurations with a balancing plug.

FAQ

When to choose Supra C over Supra I?
In chemical or auxiliary processes where a V-port configuration is required. For pulsating or turbulent flow after pumps, bends, or branches, guidelines suggest Supra I.

Is it a control valve?
It is primarily a stop valve. For throttling, control of ΔP, noise, seat erosion, and permissible travel is required.
