Hafner Classic-line Type A Filter Regulators

The Hafner FR / FR-A Classic-line A units are air preparation assemblies integrating a filter and pressure regulator in a single housing. They are installed upstream of pneumatic valves, actuators, and air-operated instruments where pressure reduction and removal of particulates/condensate from compressed air lines are required.

Technical Versions

• FR-0: Mini version, G 1/8” or G 1/4”, flow rate 600 l/min, inlet pressure 1.5–15 bar, adjustable outlet 0.5–12 bar, filtration 20 μm, size A-0.
• FR-1: G 1/8”, G 1/4” or G 3/8”, flow rate 1650 l/min, size A-1.
• FR-2: G 1/4”, G 3/8” or G 1/2”, flow rate 3000 l/min, size A-2.
• FR-3: G 1/2”, G 3/4” or G 1”, flow rate 4500 l/min, size A-3.

Condensate Drain Options

Standard FR models feature semi-automatic drain. FR-A variants include automatic drain and are available in sizes A-2 and A-3 (flow rates 3000 or 4500 l/min). Automatic drain is recommended for continuous-duty air systems or where manual access to the bowl is limited.

Selection Criteria

Selection should be based on:

• Line flow rate and permissible pressure drop
• Thread size G 1/8” to G 1”
• Required outlet pressure 0.5–12 bar
• Manual or automatic drain requirement
• Filtration level 20 μm
• Installation position upstream of valves and manifolds

Industrial Applications

Suitable for pneumatic panels, packaging machinery, assembly lines, cylinders, Hafner valves, and auxiliary air circuits. Maintenance includes inspection of filter element, drain function, outlet pressure stability, and bowl water accumulation.
