STRIKO G3 Graphite Rupture Discs

The STRIKO G3 series consists of monobloc graphite rupture discs, impregnated with phenolic resin and reinforced with stainless steel or special materials. These discs are installed directly between flanges without a separate holder, reducing mounting components and simplifying replacement after activation.

Technical Data

  • Series: G3M / G3A
  • Construction: monobloc graphite rupture disc
  • G3A: version with external stainless steel shield
  • DN: DN25–DN400 (product page), up to DN600 referenced in general catalogue
  • Burst pressure: 0.07 to 28 bar(g)
  • Working ratio: 80%
  • Burst tolerance: minimum ±10%
  • Operating temperature: -50°C to +180°C
  • Vacuum support: optional integrated support
  • Indication: can be combined with burst indicator or leakage sensor

Application Scope

G3 discs are used in chemical lines, reactors, scrubbers, tanks, and piping with corrosive liquids or gases. Graphite is selected where chemical compatibility is prioritized over the mechanical strength of metallic discs. Final selection should consider process media, temperature, operating pressure, set pressure, vacuum, backpressure, and required relief area.

G3 vs G2

The G2 is a flat graphite disc used with HG2 holder. The G3 is a monobloc design for direct flange installation. The G3A variant adds stainless steel shielding for improved mechanical support during bolting and to compensate for potential flange misalignment.

Certifications

STRIKO is certified to ISO 9001:2015 for development and production of bursting disc safety devices, and operates a quality system per PED 2014/68/EU, Module D for graphite and metal rupture discs.

FAQ

Is a holder required?
Not for the G3 series; installation is direct between flanges.

When is vacuum support needed?
When vacuum or possible backpressure exists on the discharge side.

Is replacement required after activation?
Yes, the disc is a non-reclosing safety device.

Description

Graphite Rupture Disc Series G3

Regardless of the types in demand – the advantages of graphite Rupture Discs are the high corrosion resistance and the good value for money as well as the easy assembly.

Advantages in the application

  • design as monobloc Rupture Disc
  • direct installation between flanges
  • no special holder is necessary
  • the reinforcement ring will absorb increased axial forces during assembly, which can occur through misalignments of the flanges
