Hose & Floor Valves

Fire hose valves and floor control valves are used in standpipe, hose station, and floor control service where controlled water delivery is required to a fire hose connection or to a defined network zone. Valve selection should be based on available inlet pressure, required outlet pressure, design flow, NFPA system class, connection size, and the ability to operate under both flow and no-flow conditions.

This category includes Cla-Val preset pressure reducing valves 90-FS-PRV-15 and 90-FS-PRV-25, as well as field-adjustable models 90-ADJ-PRV-15 and 90-ADJ-PRV-25. The 90-FS-PRV series functions as factory-set pressure reducing valves and may be applied as standpipe valves, floor control valves, and checking devices. The 1 1/2 in. version is referenced for NFPA Class II systems with a maximum inlet pressure of 300 psi, while the 2 1/2 in. version is referenced for NFPA Class I systems with a maximum inlet pressure of 400 psi.

The 90-ADJ-PRV series incorporates a forged brass body with Forgeline bonnet and seat assembly, with pressure control provided through an adjustable flow restriction mechanism. Where full flow is required, the restriction can be bypassed. These versions are specified with factory testing at 300 psi and carry UL/ULC listing.

For pressure restriction duty, the range includes Cla-Val 90-PRV-175-25 and HV-100-25. These valves control downstream pressure through a flow-limiting mechanism and are used where hose outlet pressure must be restricted without altering the base system configuration. The listed construction includes cast brass body, Forgeline bonnet and seat assembly, hydrostatic test rating of 300 psi, UL/ULC listing, and FM approval.

During maintenance, inspection should verify pressure setting, seat tightness, full-flow capability, hose connections, body corrosion, and actual downstream pressure under flow test conditions.
