Gefran – Technical profile of a sensor, process controller and industrial automation manufacturer

Gefran S.p.A. is an Italian manufacturer of sensors, controllers, indicators, power controllers and automation platforms for industrial processes. Its product range covers field measurement, local control, power regulation and integration with PLC, SCADA and machine automation systems.

Selection requires pressure range, overpressure, wetted materials, output signal, dynamic response, vibration resistance, temperature range and possible ATEX or functional safety requirements.

Temperature sensors and controllers are used in plastics processing, extrusion, injection moulding, hot runners, ovens, heat treatment and electrical heating systems. The correct match between thermocouple or RTD, PID controller, SSR or SCR power controller and load type is critical for stable temperature control.

Power controllers and solid state relays are used for resistive loads, transformers, infrared lamps and non-linear heating systems. Selection depends on current, voltage, number of phases, firing mode, cooling, diagnostics and fieldbus requirements.
